These graphics below were developed in 1987 in collaboration with a Congolese artist, Mpongo Landu, to illustrate the comprehensive nature of Primary Health Care, i.e., that PHC activities span the spectrum from A to Z and should not be limited to a few vertical interventions. An English Version of these same interventions is available here. Please keep in mind that these images are twenty year old and are, for some interventions, a bit dated. The concept of comprehensive PHC is, however, never dated and in an integral part of renewing primary health care. If you or your organization would be interested in helping to update this Alphabet of PHC, please contact webmaster@renewingphc.org. You may download and use these graphics free of charge for non-commercial purposes such a training manuals, newsletters and posters. You may also "cut-out" and use the pictures independently of the alphabet blocks. Any commercial use of these copyrighted graphics, however, must be approved in advance. The images below are linked to much larger individual graphics (approximately 1300 x 1300 pixels in size). You can examine a full-size graphic by left-clicking an image. You can download individual graphics by right-clicking an image and using the "Save Image as..." option.
